Blerta Abdi, DMD
Dr. Abdi was born and raised in the small and beautiful country of Albania. She moved with her family to the United States in 2008 to continue her education. She attended University of South Florida for her bachelors’ degree in Biomedical Sciences, where she graduate cumma sum laude. She attended Nova Southeastern College of Dentistry for her dental degree where she graduated top 5% of her class and was inducted in the only honor dental society in the country, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Soon after, she moved to Dallas to attend Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry to pursue her specialization in orthodontics. She received extensive training in diagnosing and treating dental and craniofacial anomalies in children and adults. In addition to traditional braces, Dr. Blerta received training in new and exiting techniques in orthodontics, which include miniscrew implants, Invisalign, computer assisted surgical planning etc. In her final year of residency she won the BOO Award (Baylor Orthodontics Oscar) for best case treated in residency. Recently, Dr. Blerta became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
When not having fun creating smiles for her patients, Dr. Blerta likes to spend time with her husband Erik and their new puppy, Hurley. On their free time, they like to travel, hike, and cook.
