Krista Anne Cox, DMD
Meet Dr. Cox
Growing up in Southwest Georgia, Krista Anne Cox holds southern living close to her heart. Dr. Cox is now happy to call the great state of Tennessee home.
Dr. Cox began college at Valdosta State University where she majored in Biology. In college, through the encouragement of her family dentist, she became interested in the dental field. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree, Dr. Cox began dental school at the Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry in Augusta, Georgia. While in dental school, she was able to travel to Peru and provide dental care to an underserved pediatric population. From this experience, she found her passion in treating children. Dr. Cox decided to further her education by completing two years of pediatric dentistry residency at Georgia Health Sciences University. This residency allowed her to learn and work at three outstanding Children’s Hospitals in Augusta and Atlanta, Georgia. At Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Dr. Cox focused on the treatment of special needs children in both a hospital and clinic environment. From this training, she developed an understanding and sensitivity for special needs patients. Dr. Cox also was involved in two craniofacial teams in both Atlanta and Augusta, Georgia.
Professional affiliations include the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentists, American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association and Tennessee Dental Association. Dr. Cox is in the process of becoming board certified in pediatric dentistry. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Paul, an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery resident at Vanderbilt.
